Participants require a 4WD vehicle of their own or to hire one. Multiple persons per vehicle is OK, Recommended number 2 per vehicle.
Duration: 2 days - Max 8 Students per trainer. Designed for: This driver training course is designed for persons operating light vehicles in off road situations (4x4) and on the pipeline easement/access roads. It covers PMASUP236B - Operate Vehicles in the field from the Chemical and Hydrocarbons Training Package. This course meets the requirements of the PMASUP236B component of the SANTOS specific driver training program. Pre-requisites: This unit has no prerequisites, however operators will have the appropriate class of driver's licence before taking charge of the vehicle. Co-requisites: Nil Pre-entry Requirements: Students are to ensure they have a current manual drivers licence before the commencement of the training. Description: This course targets safe driving practices in the field as well as the implementation of emergency and vehicle recovery techniques. Content: Manual drivers licence required for this course Make for a safe workplace in remote locations Following company driving policies (Journey Management) Observation and Driver attitude Identification of Hazards and Risks Braking Techniques Vehicle recovery Fatigue management Unit of Competency PMASUP236B Operate vehicles in the field Assessment: Assessment will consist of both theory and practical activities requiring the use of an off-road vehicle.
